Cildb was created by Jean Cohen and Olivier Arnaiz, Centre de Génétique Moléculaire , Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) , Gif-sur-Yvette, using open source software biomart (http://www.biomart.org/).

The specific French and European intellectual property rights related to the production of Cildb belong to the CNRS.
